![]() ![]() I would hit an insivible corner 1 to 2 feet from an actual corner. There were invisble walls connected to most objects and structures that wouls make it frustrating to move around. Made by a South Korean company that barely puts any effort into tech support for servers outside of Asia. Silkroad Online had great PVP and community, even here in North America, and good looking graphics for the time, but it had major issues that I just can't stand anymore: But if your seeking the grind and hardcore play, it doesn’t exist in XI anymore and it doesn’t exist in any other game as far as I can tell. I can not recommend this game enough, it’s incredible and I’m really enjoying the new, more relaxed play that it offers. If you like the game after this you’ll need to buy the game and register the codes to your character as well as beginning to pay the fees. There’s a 30 day free trial and you can download the client for free on the website. These days you can get involved with endgame by simply answering calls in the game instead of sticking to rigid schedules like the old days. In 2019 the game still has its amazing charm, the customisation of characters is amazing and the gear game has changed to be much more open rather than one standout piece for each slot like the old days. Competition was fierce and the game was very consuming. In years passed, XI was a grind fest, taking months and even years to level and gear your character as well as camping mobs that pop every 21-24hrs or 3-7days in some instances. The game is like $10 a month or something I forget but it’s a lot more user friendly than it used to be and can be played a lot more casually. If the rates were a bit better, even without edits, it'd be a lot better.įinal Fantasy XI is what you’re looking for, not XIV. However, the grind in Silkroad isn't fun or a good thing: killing the same mob a few thousand times is a bad thing. So, like I said, I would love to make/play on a P2P (pay to play, subscription based, because the server has to maintain itself) private Silkroad server, even if it fails, so that I can finally get over this game which I have great memories and understand the pSRO community is simply P2W oriented.ĮDIT: The server /u/12usu mentioned is indeed 100% F2P and nothing can be bought with real money. Sure, if you drop something good and would like to sell it to someone for real money (RMT) go for it, but if the server owners have a rule against that, be prepared to be banned - I personally don't mind RMT, I just don't like seeing it made possible in-game. I want a server that has none of that, that there's no Silk (or any other premium currency) and everything has to be obtained by playing. You can buy items for silk, premium, avatars, etc, meaning that it is always possible to make a conversion from USD to in-game items. I've played over 50 private servers, and all have been P2W.
